Variety work (Blackening an old grinder)
by Justin on Nov.22, 2009, under Blackening
We just finished up refinishing an old hand crank type grinder. Items like these don’t polish up very well, so we typically abrasive blast them and run them throught the system with a matte finish. The customer is curious if they are worth anything but there are no serial numbers or manufacturer stampings to be found anywhere. If you have a lead on where we might find such info feel free to share.

Just got done with sizeable job for US Web Con. They used to do all their blackening by hand with a cold blue and hand applied. Much of their blackening work comes to us now since we offer such a fast turn around at a reasonable price. It also helps the our system turns out parts sooooo.. much nicer than hand work. The make lots of different widgets, large blocks, large rollers, weldments, small parts… etc. as you can see in the picture. Check ‘em out at http://www.uswebcon.com/ if you could use a few parts made.
